BORN IN ACAPULCO

The world’s first Padel apparel
It’s a good thing Enrique Corcuera didn’t have a bigger garden.
The sport was invented in 1969 in Acapulco, at that time the most famous resort in the world, and the most hedonistic!
The spirit of PULCO was born in Acapulco and today is designed in London. We make the finest Padel apparel in the world, using the most technically advanced performance fabrics from Italy.
Back in ‘69 the Mexican businessman, Enrique Corcuera, realised that his home in Acapulco couldn’t quite accommodate a full tennis court, so he decided to invent something else entirely. A smaller court surrounded by walls; a game played with a wooden palas instead of a racket.
It was a labour of love as much as necessity. Enrique’s love of games and competition and his love for the beautiful surroundings of his Acapulco home.
Today, as soon as someone plays Padel, they seem to fall instantly in love with it and many become “Padel addicts”, attracted by the same sense of fun and friendship that made it such a hit in Enrique’s just-too-small garden in Acapulco.
At first the neighbours objected to this crazy new sport with the odd-looking court. “It’s not tennis” they said. But Enrique was a rebel and was determined to realise his dream. A rebel, but a lovable rogue. A rascal.
And that rebel spirit stays with us today.
His court and his garden soon became the social hub for his friends in Acapulco.
At PULCO, we promise to keep Padel’s original spirit of innovation, friendship and rebellion alive.
Our designs are our own labour of love and our way of honouring Padel’s roots.
